Following a successful exchange on management of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) in the previous month between the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of the Republic of Korea (ROK), the authorities held another workshop on 16 July with the purpose to deepen their cooperation, this time on the subject of Ramp Inspection Programme.

In the online meeting, flight standards experts from MOLIT and EASA presented the current ramp inspection programmes in ROK and the EU respectively, covering subtopics such as regulatory basis, inspection process, data analysis, and information sharing practice. After the presentations and final discussion session, EASA and MOLIT concluded the workshop had been useful and agreed to continue exchanges on future cooperation in the ramp inspection domain. The activity was attended by 14 participants.

The Ramp Inspection Programme Workshop was the second activity held in anticipation of increased technical cooperation exchanges on various civil aviation subjects between the EU and ROK. To this end, EASA and MOLIT aim to sign a Letter of Intent later this year, to formalise the cooperation framework of an EU-ROK Aviation Partnership Project (APP).
